Corrections Policy
Nobody gets it right 100% of the time. What matters is what you do when something's off.
The Contractor Matrix is built on accuracy. We put in the work to research and verify every piece of content we publish, but mistakes happen. When they do, we want to hear about it so we can fix it and move on.
What Counts as a Correctable Error
We review correction requests for:
-
Factual inaccuracies; incorrect data, code references, costs, material specs, or technical claims
-
Outdated information; content that was accurate when published but has since changed due to updated building codes, regulations, or industry standards
-
Misleading framing; content that is technically correct but presented in a way that could lead a reader to the wrong conclusion
-
Broken or incorrect source citations
Differences of opinion, editorial judgment, or matters of personal preference don't fall under corrections.
How to Submit a Correction
Send it to [email protected] with the following:
-
The URL of the page containing the error
-
A clear description of the specific issue
-
Your suggested correction and any supporting sources if you have them
We review all correction requests and aim to respond within 5-7 business days.
What Happens After You Submit
Every correction request gets reviewed by our editorial team. If we confirm the error, we update the content and note the correction at the bottom of the page. If we determine the content is accurate as published, we'll explain our reasoning in our response.
We don't remove correction notices. If we got something wrong and fixed it, that stays on the record.
We Appreciate You
Readers who flag errors help us keep The Contractor Matrix reliable for everyone in the trades. That kind of accountability matters to us.
